Demir Demirgil Award
Demir Demirgil was a faculty member at Boğaziçi University starting from 1967 until we lost him in 1990. Prof. Demirgil was the key figure in the establishment of the Economics Department, in addition to his intense administrative involvement at the University level as the Deputy Rector and as a member of the Senate and the Executive Board. He is always remembered as a devoted lecturer.
In his memory, every Spring term, a distinguished economist is invited to present at the Demir Demirgil Seminars; and the Demir Demirgil Award is awarded each year to the valedictorian of the graduating Economics class.
